PROTECTING YOUR CHILD AGAINST FLU: SCHOOL BASED PROGRAMME 2023

17th Nov 2023
Please see the details below sent from the Immunisation team in Belfast Trust -

For the attention of Parents & Guardians: vaccination for your school child from P1 up to and including 5th year (year 12).

PROTECTING YOUR CHILD AGAINST FLU: SCHOOL BASED PROGRAMME 2023

The School Immunisation Team will be visiting your child’s school during the coming weeks to offer Fluenz Tetra® vaccine (nasal spray). The vaccine is being offered to your school child from P1 up to and including 5th year (Year 12).  For medical reasons a very small number of children will not be able to receive Fluenz Tetra® vaccine. They will be given a letter to attend their GP for flu vaccine by injection instead.

An information pack about Fluenz Tetra® vaccine (nasal spray) has been delivered to your child’s school this week. Your child will be given this pack in school to bring home to you. The information pack contains an immunisation consent form with your child’s name printed on the form, an information leaflet, information on ‘Who Can Sign A Consent for Immunisation’ and contact details for the School Immunisation Team should you have any queries.

Please complete and sign the immunisation consent form and return to school in the envelope provided.
