Positive case reported

8th Sep 2021

Miss Barr and her P5s must isolate immediately as a positive case has been reported in her class. All members of the class bubble are close contacts and will need a PCR test immediately (not rapid antigen/ lateral flow). https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

You may need our school contact tracing code to book a PCR test: 1036621j

Advice for close contacts -

  • your child must isolate immediately, have a PCR test and not return to school until we have processed your test results
  • Parents should take a screen shot of the PCR test result when they come through and send to us on Facebook or Whatsapp  07929711746. We, like you,  do not want your child to miss school but the health and safety of all must be paramount.
  • If your child receives a positive result, then all of your children in the school must be tested and isolate for 10 days.
  • If your child receives a negative result your child can return to school and must be tested again on TUESDAY (day 8) in keeping with PHA guidelines. They do not need to isolate when waiting for a day 8 test result and can continue to come to school.
  • You should again send us through the test results
  • Testing is extremely busy at the minute with schools returning and infection rates high so please persevere when you are trying to book a test for your child
  • We cannot help with the testing appointments

Your other children/family members DO NOT need to isolate unless they are identified as a close contact or are showing covid symptoms. If you do have your other children tested and they receive a positive test then send us the test result as we will need to contact trace

Different rules if your child has tested positive for Covid in last 90 days: Your child will not need to isolate if s/he has tested positive for Covid in the last 90 days and has no symptoms. They can return to school and will join the other same year group class until their teacher returns. If your child has tested positive in the last 90 days & HAS symptoms, then you should follow the advice above for close contacts.
