Letter from Mr McCann - update from Dept of Education
Dear Parent/guardian
We have received updated information from the Department of Education regarding a planned phased return to school for some year groups.
- From 8th March until 19th March pupils in P1 to P3 will return to full-time face-to-face teaching.
- From 22nd March until the Easter break children in P1-P3 will move once again to online learning.
- From Monday 12th April (after the Easter break) children in Years 1-3 will return to school for full-time face-to-face teaching.
Due to public health advice and scientific evidence, the return to school before and after Easter, does not yet include children in P4-7. Children in these year groups will continue with online learning. However, this may change if infection rates continue to fall. We will keep you updated as and when we receive additional information going forward.
Our supervised sessions in school for both vulnerable and children of key workers will continue as normal.
We recognise that for many families the next few weeks will be difficult as you may have some children at home and some children at school. Unfortunately, this is a consequence of the times we are currently living in. We are naturally disappointed that all children are not yet returning but we understand that a full time return to school for all pupils will only be possible when it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, please continue with online learning and we will hopefully see you all again very soon.
Kind Regards
Mr McCann
