Letter from Miss Weir 06/01/21

6th Jan 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware, the Minister of Education has guided schools to provide supervised learning in school for children of key workers and vulnerable children with the rest of our children provided with remote learning at home.

Only children of parents who are key workers or are classified under the term ‘vulnerable’ will be able to come to school for ‘supervised learning' from Friday 8th January. Children should wear full school uniform and bring a lunch everyday as there will be no dinner service. A member of staff will coordinate the supervision of those key worker/vulnerable children attending school. All other teachers will be delivering remote learning activities through Seesaw.

Remote learning will begin on Friday 8th January. All children, whether at home or in school will receive the same activities. It is ESSENTIAL that all children are registered on their Seesaw and access their account.

Please see the list of Key Workers below to see if your child fits this criteria.

Please note one parent/carers must fulfil the criteria of being a key worker for their child to qualify for supervised learning from Friday 8th January.  Parents/carers should register their child with the school on Thursday 7th January between 10am-12noon. Please submit your name, child’s name, your job title, location of employment along with 2 emergency contact phone numbers which can receive phone calls between 9am-3pm.

Children can be registered via DM on Facebook, or by emailing cmorelli134@c2kni.net or by phoning the school 02890323683.

Whilst the staff of our school will continue to follow PHA guidelines we cannot be held responsible if your child tests positive for Covid 19.

KEY WORKER DEFINITION; Public safety and national security, Health and Social Care, Education and childcare, Transport,  Utilities and Communication,  Financial Services, Food and other necessary goods, Essential retail, Key national and local government

11+; You will note that the GL Transfer test scheduled for the end of January has been cancelled. The AQE has been rescheduled to take place on 27th Feb. We will update you if there are any further changes.

Like you, we also would love all our children to return to school for learning but realise this is not possible at this time due to the extremely high levels of infection being recorded.
