Easing of restrictions - letter from Miss Weir

7th Apr 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you so much for all your support over the last two years in managing what has been a very challenging time in school due to the pandemic. I am pleased to inform you that we will be easing a range of restrictions when children return to school after the Easter Holidays. From Monday 25th April the following routines will be re-established:

Children will no longer be restricted to class bubbles and will once again integrate with other classes in the school environment e.g. school assembly, playgrounds, canteen etc

Staff will not be required to wear face coverings in the school environment. This will now be optional for staff as appropriate.

The school day will revert to our normal hours:

  • P1 & P2: 8.45am - 1.45pm
  • P3-P7: 8.45am - 3.00pm Mon –Thurs, Friday 1.45pm

We recognise that whilst we hope most children will view these changes as a cause for celebration, for some children this will be a challenging transition as they have been confined to their class group for such an extended period of time. We will work hard during the last week of this half term to prepare the children for this through discussion and demonstrating where to line up and by listening to any concerns they may have.

Morning Routine

  • Children should not arrive to school before 8.30am as there is no yard supervision before this time. Yard supervision from 8.30am.
  • Children who are registered to attend our Early bird breakfast club for working parents can continue to do so as normal from 8.15am.
  • All other children will continue to have toast on arrival to school in their classroom.
  • The school car park will NOT reopen as children transition through this area daily.

P1 & P2 clubs will continue to finish at 2.45pm. P3-P7 clubs finish as normal at 4pm.

We recognise that our school will continue to be affected by Covid-19 as with many other illnesses in school. It is essential that children are tested if showing symptoms and isolate if they test positive. Please continue to inform us. Thank you once again for your continued support and cooperation.
