Does your child speak English as a second/additional language - we need your views

The Department of Education is currently reviewing its policy for children from overseas who come to live in N. Ireland.   

They wish to undertake a survey to collect the views of the parents of newcomer pupils and examine, from their perspective, how effective they feel we have been in meeting the learning needs of their children; and how well we have performed in enabling them to monitor and contribute to their child’s educational progress.

A parents’ survey has been prepared, along with an explanatory letter, and both of these have been translated into eleven of the most commonly spoken Newcomer home languages. The survey itself will be hosted online and will be accessible in each of the translated languages via the Department’s website.  

We would therefore ask you to share your views on the link below.
