Coming soon - World Children’s Day 20th November

3rd Sep 2019

Proud to be celebrating 30 Years of Children’s and Young People’s Rights

20th November 2019

World Children’s Day - Wednesday 20th November – is the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

We will be hosting a Big Breakfast event in our school hall to kick off the celebration followed by our school pupil council leading a presentation on the UNCRC.

What’s it all about?

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history and in the 30 years since its adoption, it has helped to transform children’s lives. It has inspired Governments to change laws, strategies and policies and to make investments so that more children get the services they need including access to healthcare and nutrition to survive and develop, fewer children are out of school and there are improving systems to protect children from violence and exploitation. It has also enabled more children to have their voices heard and to participate more effectively in decision making affecting their lives and outcomes.

Children are taking over and turning the world blue. Sign the petition.

Children have their rights denied every single day. We want to build a world where every child is in school and learning, safe from harm and able to fulfill their potential, and we know you do too. It's time to put children back on the agenda.

Sign the petition and #GoBlue to call on world leaders to commit to fulfilling the rights of every child and acknowledge that these rights are non-negotiable.
