Applying for P1 September 2025?

6th Jan 2025

Friday 10 January 2025 – at 12 noon

EA Connect opens for online applications for Primary 1.

If your child was born between 2 July 2020 and 1 July 2021 they are due to start P1 in September 2025 as they will be of Compulsory School Age and you must apply for a place in a Primary School.

Online applications will open at 12noon on Friday 10 January 2025 and will close at 12noon on Friday 24 January 2025.

Before starting your child’s application you should:

  • Read carefully the admissions criteria for our school (see below)
  • All schools will require the birth certificate to verify a child’s name and date of birth.
  • You can scan or take a photo of the documents you require for each school and save them on the device you will be using to make your Primary Application. Make sure the photos or scans are clear and legible.
  • You will require an email address to be able to register on EA Connect to submit an application.

Admissions Criteria
During the admissions procedure when applying the criteria punctual applications will be considered before late
applications are considered.

In selecting children for admission, children resident in Northern Ireland at the time of their proposed admission
will be selected for admission to the school before any child not so resident.

1 Children who reside within the parish of St Peter’s.

2 Children who have a brother/step/half-brother, sister/step/half-sister, foster sibling currently enrolled in St.
Joseph’s P.S. in Year 1 to 7

3 Children who have selected St. Joseph’s P.S. (Slate St) as first choice on the application form.

4 Those who are children/step children/siblings/half-siblings/grandchildren of current staff.

5 Children from outside St Peter’s parish.

In the event of over-subscription, applicants will be selected for admission on the basis of the initial letter of
surname as entered on the birth certificate or court order in the order set out below, as determined by a random
selection. This will be overseen by a member of the Board of Governors and an internal supervisor.
