Annan's Arch - Belfast Creates with P5
Last week our children in P5 took part in their third ‘Belfast Creates’ workshop with Janie and Karolina from Anann’s Arch. This workshop incorporated both movement and visual art again.
This workshop was a bit of magic – with Karolina they learned some juggling skills, and Janie had them conjuring magic spells using movement, and then they learning a choreographed routine. Karolina then introduced some artworks to the class, which they responded to using oil pastels to create their own piece.
Here are some questions you could ask your P5 child about their workshop:
- What was it like to try out some juggling skills? What did you learn?
- Can you show me some of the dance you learned with Janie?
- What kinds of paintings did Karolina show you?
- What was your artwork like? What did you draw? Can you tell me a bit about it?
The next session with the Belfast Creates project will be a very special trip to see The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Cahoots NI on 17th December. For more information on the show follow this link: https://cahootsni.com/productions/the-sorcerers-apprentice/
After this, we will back in the new to take the class on a visit to an Art Gallery, and then in the school to deliver one final workshop, which we are hoping we will have some parents/carers join us for! More information on this to come…
This project is funded by the Summerhill Foundation(www.summerhillfoundation.com), and delivered by Anann’s Arch (www.anannsarch.com).
